Kelly Braman Photography is all about heart and connection. You are not simply choosing an experienced photographer, but also gaining a gal who will love on you and your family. Kelly goes above and beyond for her clients and does not take it lightly that she is entrusted with your family's memories. Kelly is lover of light and also adores details. Whether that be your great grandmother's broach attached to your bouquet or the way Kelly sees you run your hand through your little boy's tousled curls that might not last after his first hair cut. Kelly sees the beauty in the simplest of details and those are the moments Kelly's clients cry over and beam with excitement upon receiving their images. These are moments, friends. Document them well.

Kelly LOVES connecting with her couples. The engagement session is such a great time to get to know each other prior to the wedding day. Treat it like a date night! You are a little more dressed up and you will be hungry (I promise:) after your shoot.
These sessions are laid back and full of fun! Many guys will say at the end how much fun it was and not at all what they expected. We interact, laugh and create amazing images and memories for you! Ps. Kelly loves helping her couples with styling. Send along your thoughts and think soft color tones as they photograph nicely.

You put your personal stamp on your wedding and those little personal touches really elevate your wedding to make it perfectly You! Kelly will keep her eye out for these little pretties and if there is something extra special be sure to share it with Kelly. What is important to you is important to Kelly.

Getting Ready

first look

Bride & groom portraits

This is such a fun part of the day. 
Make sure you choose a location that has
beautiful light (for both the girls and the guys) Think about how this location coordinates with the style of your wedding. Have your details ready in one spot to easily gather to photograph. Robes or custom pajamas for the ladies are so cute for yourself and your bridesmaids.

I love first looks. You get the best of both. You will experience a tender moment documented with just the two fo you as well as the walking down the aisle. This also allows you to spend the entire day together and your guests won’t have to wait as most photographs are already complete so you can fully enjoy and celebrate with your favorite people.

I always love ample time for this portion of the day. It is YOUR day and you will want relaxed portraits that are not rushed. I love 30 minutes for the first look and then 30 minutes for just the two of you. Then your bridal party joins in the fun for one hour. Two hours total is a perfect amount of time to have room for real moments to shine.

Wedding Party portraits

Your friends in your bridal party are so excited for you! It’s fun to see everyone together to celebrate YOU! We take an hour to capture fun moments and we also want to make sure your relationship with your friends is well documented. We do group shots as well as all the ladies and the gents. This is a fun to remember and if we allow enough time it will be so fun!

before the ceremony

We leave 30 minutes prior to the ceremony to just breathe and relax before walking down the aisle. This is a wonderful moment if you would like to pray or pee or both. Ha!

family formals

This typically takes place immediately after the ceremony. It runs smoothly if everyone knows where to meet. We start with the largest groupings first so they may be dismissed and end with immediate family. I love to have a list of last names to ensure we do not miss anyone.

Make sure to bring lip gloss for the ladies and chapstick for the guys. Chapped lips do not photograph well :) Make sure all clothes are properly pressed & coordinating is always better than matching. 

Treat this as a fun date night! Kelly promises you will be hungry after your session and you will be a little more dressed up so plan something afterwards to look forward to! She believes in the whole experience :) 

Kelly gives a lot of direction and loves those in between moments. You don't have to worry about being a model ;) Kelly knows how to set you up for your true connection to shine! She loves when couples receive their images and are IN LOVE with what she captured!

Kelly LOVES to help with styling! Upon reserving your engagement session date she will send along outfit inspiration based on your season of choice and style. Kelly encourages couples to send quick iphone snaps of outfits and she helps pull it all together!

A Few Tips

What to wear

Kelly LOVES to help with styling. She recommends two outfits. Starting with one a bit dressier and ending with more casual yet stylish. Soft colors photograph beautifully. You may also add in grey and navy as well any fun accessories you may want to incorporate. Bring more than you need and Kelly will tell you what will photograph best.
